When to visit based on price

From November through April are the months when lower rates can be found, with the exception of winter holidays. Always keep in mind that all year long Napa is busy on weekends with its close proximity to San Francisco.

Key attractions

No matter how long you spend in Napa, you’ll never see and do it all. Napa Valley is an exciting destination, full of adventures for young and old, but in all honesty, mostly for adults. The overall main attraction of Napa is of course it’s famous wine country. There are so many famous wineries, as well as small boutique wineries to visit for days of sipping and relaxing. If visiting multiple wineries, it’s always suggested to have a designated driver. Another highly advisable suggestion is to tale a wine tour, and leave the driving to someone else.

Having fun

If you need a break from the wine tasting, possibly hitting the links is a sweet experience in Napa. With fine weather all year long, the area 18-hole championship courses available are a dream come true. Making a t-time at Silverado Resort and Spa, or Chardonnay Golf Club or one of the other courses ahead of time is highly advisable.
Wine is the pleasure of the gods, and so is food, and nowhere are these two enjoyed together as well as in Napa. Dining at some of the best restaurants in Napa you will have the opportunity to pair your dishes with some of the best wines in the world. That being said, while in Napa, why not attend a Napa Cooking Class at one of the many offered to you”, like the Napa Style Cooking Class or Oenotri. Then there’s always Epicurean Excursions, where they take you on a gourmet guided tour.
Another way to experience wine pairings is at wineries offering them in special rooms at their winery. This is an excellent way to learn what and how to pair wine and food. Some of the more notable wineries offering this experience are Signorello Estate and St. Francis Winery in Sonoma, not far from Napa.
Lastly, you can get off your feet for three hours and take a journey back in time on the Napa Valley Wine Tour. This journey through wine country takes place in restored vintage rail cars, and is a wine and culinary experience.

Shopping

For the shoppers there’s the Napa Premium Outlet Stores, with shops ranging from Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, to Banana Republic and much more. Another choice is Barney’s New York Outlet located on Factory Stores Drive, where you can find other stores including Ann Taylors, American Apparel, and more.
Of course in downtown Napa, you have some excellent stores to browse, including Lucero Olive Oil with a slew of artisan products, and the Napa General Store where you not only find local wines, but also t-shirts, local crafted jewelry, and things for the home.

Nearby

Chances are you have chosen Napa to visit mainly for the weather and the wines. However, you are in one of the worlds premium wine countries, especially in the U.S. Within a few hours you can be sipping wines in one of the other thirteen wine regions. Sonoma, Santa Rosa and Knights Valley are right next door. The Russian River Valley is close by with excellent wineries. Or you can choose to head to the California Coast, stopping at some vineyards in Dry Creek Valley and Sonoma Coast vineyards.
You other big choice would be to take a trip to San Francisco, a couple hours away. Although this is more of a multi-day excursion, if there were one or two sights you wanted to visit while here, it’s doable. For instance, you could cross the San Francisco Bridge into San Francisco, enjoy lunch in Fisherman’s Warf, take the ferry out to Alcatraz for a tour and head home. This you could accomplish in a day.
