Galway Cheap Hotels in Galway

Where do you want to stay?

Galway is a quintessential Irish city, soaked in Guinness as much as it is in West Country rain, with a character that is typically Oirish. Staying in Galway hotels, guests often get great views out over Galway bay and find themselves within a drunken walk from the friendly pubs in the city centre. The city itself retains its small town character, where tasteful souvenir shops sit alongside the ubiquitous pubs. And you'll find that sitting over a pint, listening to endless chatter from the locals, while diddly-aye music plays in the background is the key attraction here. In fact, many of the hotels in Galway have their own pubs. But even if you're not interested in joining Ireland's favorite pastime, the city itself offers some interesting sights, such as the Spanish Arch, Lynch's Church and the 600-year-old Collegiate Church of Nicholas of Myra. In the summer festivals are hosted at Eyre Square, such as the famous Galway Arts Festival in July. Taking a drive into the lush countryside of this Emerald Isle is also rewarding and most tourists head northwest into the barren Connemara Range, to the quaint traditional town of Spiddal. A few hotels are found here if you decide to stay overnight. The Burren and Doolin, to the south, offer a similar experience with countryside inns. The summer is much nicer in Galway than the winter months, and hotels tend to book out, so plan your visit well in advance.
